Our hillside location provides a peaceful escape, where the classic Coledale Horseshoe, Grisedale Pike, and the serene Derwentwater are all within access of your retreat.
When the mine at Force Crag was active, the inn was used to manufacture pencils. After the large pencil factory in Keswick was built in the 1820s, all the smaller manufacturers started to close and the site was turned in to The Coledale Inn we know and love today.
We're located just above Braithwaite Village, in a peaceful hillside position well away from passing traffic. The inn is ideally situated for touring and walking, with paths to the mountains immediately outside the hotel gardens.
All our room rates include a delicious Cumbrian breakfast. Enjoy our hot breakfast as well as our continental buffet, fresh fruit, with unlimited toast and hot drinks.
We offer a selection of sandwiches, ciabattas and light bites. Hot drinks are also available all day.
We pride ourselves on using local ingredients wherever we can and offer a daily specials board as well as a menu with all the usual favourites.
